See the cherry blossoms

One of the best things in Paris during Spring is the cherry blossom season. The city is greeted with pink cherry blossoms, white cherry blossoms to magnolia. The petals cover Paris landmarks and streets. It’s like nature throwing confetti every way.

The blossoms are not the only flowers you see in Paris, wisteria and roses also make an appearance.

How long do the blossoms last in Spring?

The blossoms usually last for at least two weeks, though some be shorter depending on the weather. Rain and wind can blow away the delicate petals faster than you can blink. So, before you visit Paris in spring, keep an eye on the weather apps, as conditions can be unpredictable. Some days are pleasantly warm, while others can be cold, windy and rainy.

When is the best time to visit Paris in Spring?

The best time to see blooms in Paris is mid March to June. As I mentioned the weather plays a key part of how long the blooms last.

The location

Location is key. You’ll want to stay in the 1st Arrondissement, near the Louvre and the Tuileries. Other great neighborhoods include the 6th Arrondissement. It is close to the Jardin du Luxembourg. Last but not least is the 7th Arrondissement near the Eiffel Tower. These areas promise a sight of cherry blossoms in every corner. Make sure you walk to the local parks too for a spot of blooms.

Where to spot the blooms in Paris

  • Walk along the seine in Avenue de New York
  • Champes de Mars with Eiffel tower in sight
  • Tuileries garden
  • Jardin du Luxembourg

Best activities to do in Paris?

One of the best things to do in Paris is a walking tour and I’m so glad I booked one. Notre Dame with a guided tour and then enjoy a Seine River Cruise. And Paris top sights half day walking tour with a fun guide are great tours. I learned interesting facts about Paris. Discovered hidden gems with the tour guide and had lots of laughs along the way.

The river cruise experience was incredible. We cruised along the Seine River and saw stunning views of the Eiffel Tower. It was magical. I recommend you book the evening cruise as you’ll get to see the Eiffel tower sparkle at night.

If walking tours are not your thing. In that case, I recommend you watch a cabaret show like Moulin Rouge. I booked Moulin Rouge cabaret show with champagne. It was amazing and worth the money. You can read my review on New boutique hotel in Paris. There are other affordable cabaret shows you can see half the price, like La Nouvelle cabaret. Another great show to see. Best museums in Paris

Paris has many museums to visit, but my favorite museum in all of Paris is, without a doubt. The Musée Carnavalet. I wrote about my experience on a recent blog post solo travel tips for Paris.

Other great museums you should add to your itinerary are Musee d’Orsay and Louvre Museum (skip the line too!). Another favourite is Musee Rodin. I loved this museum because it’s less crowded and has some fantastic artwork (of course all museums do). But this one felt more interesting as you learn about the masterpieces of Auguste Rodin.

The Hotels

The one thing I love about Paris is its diverse selection of hotels. Each one has a unique story and design that makes you feel right at home. From boutique to luxury properties, no two hotels are the same.

The hotels I’ve stayed in are mostly designed in Parisian style. They feature bold colours and quirky designs that set the mood. Here are my top hotel recommendations.

Hotel Leon

Hotel Leon screams luxury with an affordable price tag. Located just steps from Pigalle metro station and 4 minutes walk from Moulin Rouge. Most of the rooms come with a small kitchenette, and balcony. The hotel is immaculately clean and spotless with space for your luggage. And spacious bathrooms with marble walls that make it feel like a 5 star hotel.

New Hotel Lafayette

New Hotel Lafayette is tucked away on a quiet street. It is within walking distance to Gare du Nord and other metro stations. The staff are the friendliest team of people I’ve met in Paris. Always happy to help with any burning questions you have. The rooms are quite small but that’s to be expected in Paris.

Hotel Brittany

Hotel Brittany is one of my personal favorites. It won me over with its quirky décor the moment I stepped into the reception. Each room is full of character. There is warmth, from the bold patterned walls to the large windows which open onto the main street. The hotel is small but super cozy, with a bar to unwind in after a day of exploring.

French Theory

French Theory is located in the Latin Quarter, with just 5 minutes walk to Jardin du Luxemboug. This creative hotel has more to offer than just rooms. You’ll find a concept store and a music studio all under one roof. The rooms are bright and airy with urban designs. You can enjoy breakfast on their onsite cafe or outdoor terrace.

Explore Paris like a local

The best way to explore Paris is on foot and by taking the metro, which is super easy to navigate. Paris is a walkable city with plenty to see along the way.
