Hotels in Canary Wharf

The price of hotel stays in London has gotten out of hand. In most cases, some rooms are going for £500 a night—but not if you’re looking in the right place. Staying a little further outside the capital can save you money. This is where Canary Wharf comes to mind. Yes, it’s a financial hub, but don’t skip this part of London. There are many hotels in Canary Wharf that are both stunning and affordable.

The best location in Canary Wharf

The location couldn’t be better. If you’re attending a concert at the 02 Arena it’s only one stop away on the train. Or if you’re visiting from abroad? Gatwick and Stansted airports are within easy reach. It’s perfect for getting out and about in that corner of the city, with Greenwich also being close by.

The location plays a big part when searching for a place to stay. You can take the Elizabeth Line or the Jubilee Line straight to Canary Wharf. Only a 4 minute walk from TRIBE London Canary Wharf.

TRIBE London Canary Wharf has modern-designed rooms, a 24-hour snack bar, co-working space, and a 24-hour concierge. Guests can also access a state-of-the-art gym across the hotel for an additional fee. Outside the hotel, you have a choice of over 300 shops and restaurants.

Jubilee Park is open to the public and is spotlessly clean, with picnic tables and small takeaway vendors. A little further down, you’ll find Crossrail Place, a botanical rooftop garden with stunning views. The botanical garden features plants from around the world, as well as benches to sit on. It’s lovely and quiet for a stroll or photos of the skyscrapers.

Why I loved this boutique hotel

When I booked TRIBE London Canary Wharf. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but one thing I loved was the interior. The bold colors, unique furniture, beautiful designs, and warm tones really create a relaxed atmosphere.

The team at reception were friendly and attentive. They made sure I was helped the moment I walked in. Check-in was super fast, and before I knew it, I was in the lifts on my way to my room.

The room was nice, but small. I didn’t mind the size as it came with stunning views of Canary Wharf. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered endless views of tall buildings, and I knew the view at night would be even more beautiful.

The room came with a tea and coffee maker, complimentary water, and a hair dryer. I especially loved the vintage radio, which I enjoyed listening to classical music on. The room also featured a smart TV that greeted you by name. You can browse channels, read about the local area, or check out the menu.

For room service, there was a card with a barcode to scan, which connected you directly to the hotel restaurant. You can order from the menu, and the food was delivered to your room within 25 minutes.

The cost for my overnight stay was £140! a brilliant price for such a lovely and luxurious hotel in Canary Wharf. To get the best deals I recommend you book direct or look on Booking.com for discounted rates.

A 24 hour snack bar at the hotel

There is a 24-hour snack bar that’s open day and night. It’s well stocked with coffees, teas, sandwiches, and pastries. I found this especially handy, as you can sometimes get peckish at night and need a late-night snack. Don’t worry about coming down in your pyjamas to buy snacks—no one minds at all.

Feels like June; a California inspired restaurant

Taste Californian food without leaving London. The on-site restaurant, Feels Like June, is inspired by Californian dishes and is best known for its epic brunches. Expect buffalo chicken wings, mac and cheese with truffle oil, pancakes, and some very creative cocktails. The menu also includes vegetarian and vegan options.

I had the chicken wings, which came with a peri sauce, padron peppers, and sweet potato wedges. I also ordered a mojito cocktail, which went down a treat.

Why I would stay here again

I would stay at TRIBE London Canary Wharf again. The bed was comfortable, and the views from the room were stunning both day and night. There are co-working spaces with sockets, making it ideal for a business trip or a place to work. The team at reception and in the restaurant were incredibly kind and helpful. I felt welcomed and happy with everything—no complaints here.

The location is perfect. Everything you need is within walking distance. The Amazon shop is across the street, a few steps away is the shopping centre and a rooftop garden.

The hotel is ideal for solo travellers, couples, and groups who want to stay in the city. Business travellers would also find it very convenient.
