Where to stay in Bourton-on-the-water, Cotswolds
For a first-time visit to the Cotswolds, I would recommend you stay in Bourton-on-the-Water, one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds. Some would say it’s more touristy, but the village has cotswolds attractions that have brought interest to the admiring crowds. It’s the perfect base to explore the cotswolds. Buses run in and out from the main road. So it’s easy to get around without a car.

The village is small and quaint but not too small to feel overwhelmed by the crowds. It’s known as “Venice of the Cotswolds” because of its low arched stone bridges over the river. It’s charm and wonder offers cosy cafes, shops, a motor museum, and a model village next to the loveliest boutique hotels. I think you’ll love.

The Old New Inn is quite the charmer, with a fireplace by the reception for those autumn and winter walks. So, you can shake off your boots and chill in the sofas along with a hot cuppa.
What are the rooms like at The Old New Inn?
Country-styled rooms with lovely bedding and cotton sheets make the experience even more comfortable and cosy. My room had plenty of space to move about and hang up my belongings. There is a working desk which helped as I got a few emails done. I managed that before I switched off to enjoy my stay. A good-sized bathroom and shower (we love one of those), a coffee tray for a quick fix in the morning and lots of light flowing in from the sun outside.
What facilities does the hotel have?
The Old New Inn has a restaurant and bar. They serve classic British food and cater to vegan and vegetarian eaters, so everyone is thought of here. The food is locally produced and cooked to perfection in the kitchen. You can expect delicious flavours and dishes made just right for your enjoyment.

The Model Village is free for guests
The star of the show is, of course, the replica of the Cotswolds and how it was in the 1930s; this is a real gem and a delight to experience. The Model village is located at the back of The Old New Inn . Also, guests visit for free. Just show your room key at the admission gate.

Would I stay here again?
I’d stay here again. I love a cozy cottage vibe kind of place, and this hotel really feels like it the moment you walk into reception. A stay here will leave you wanting to stay longer and have drinks by the fireplace or take a nice walk around the center of Bourton-on-the-Water after dinner. The friendly staff, the cozy room, and the delicious food were all delightful.
