The Richmond Hill Hotel provides a stylish and cosy boutique hotel experience in the surrey countryside. Richmond Hill Hotel is 2 minutes walk from Richmond Royal park, a place where deers roam in the willd.

Where to book your stay
The cost can vary depending on what time of year you book. Most rates start at £170 per night. This includes breakfast. To get the best rates I booked my stay on Booking.com they have the best rates from what I’ve seen from my research. Another search engine you could use is Expedia.com or Hotels.com

The rooms at Richmond Hill Hotel
The hotel has 144 rooms, varying from Georgian to Hill Collection bedrooms. The Georgian rooms, situated in the historical section of the hotel, boast unique features dating back to 1726. Meanwhile, the Hill Collection rooms, located in the main building, provide contemporary luxury designs. I booked a Georgian classic double room for £170 which included breakfast for one night. It was by luck to find this incredible deal on Booking.com.

Check-in was effortless. I was greeted with warm smiles, and the receptionist provided information on the hotel’s restaurant and bar. The best part is my room was ready to check in. This happened way before the standard 3pm check-in time. Upon checking in, I found my room nice and spacious, with large windows allowing ample light. I spotted the traditional designs, which added comfort and a cozy ambiance.

Dog friendly hotel
If you have fur friends they’ll love their stay here as Richmond Hill Hotel caters for them too. In each room you’ll find a dog bowl and blanket.

WINE AND DINE AT THE 144 BAR
The restaurant and bar are beautiful, featuring elegant decor with plush cushioned chairs and gold marble tables. The ‘144 on the Hill’ bar boasts a selection of 100 gins. It also offers a variety of cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers. The restaurant has a good menu of food options as well as brunch options, and Sunday roasts. On my first night, I sat in the 144 Bar and ordered some mocktails. Later, I ordered a chicken burger with chips for dinner. The portion was generous, and the burger was really delicious. I have ordered another (haha!)

Explore the town center
The Richmond Hill Hotel is in an excellent location. Just a 2-minute walk away is the famous Royal Richmond Park, known for its wild deer and gorgeous walking trails. Just across the street is the hilltop. It offers breathtaking views of the River Thames. It’s an ideal vantage point for watching the sunset. A short stroll from the hilltop takes you to the town center. There, you can explore a variety of local independent shops. You can also visit restaurants and pubs.

Visit Kew Gardens
The Royal Botanic Kew Gardens is one of the best places to visit in Richmond. It holds the title of London’s biggest UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has thousands of plants from all over the world. There are also greenhouses, cafes, and galleries. You can enjoy Japanese gardens and lots of open space for picnics. It is one of my favorite places to visit and just spend time in nature. You can book your tickets on GETYOURGUIDE website.

Treat yourself to a staycation in the countryside
I couldn’t recommend the Richmond Hill Hotel enough! The hotel’s cleanliness and service particularly impressed me, surpassing my expectations. The staff were so nice and went above and beyond. I requested breakfast to be delivered the next morning, it arrived on time. I had such lovely time exploring the local area and going for long walks in Richmond Park. Although I did not spot any deers, I did watch a beautiful sunset at the Hilltop. Richmond Hill Hotel was so perfect, I’d stay again.
