Radisson Red hotels London

North Greenwich is a great location in London, best known for the famous London 02 Arena. Inside the arena, you’ll find 30 bars and restaurants. From Mexican cuisine to Greek to halal friendly spots and gastropubs. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to food and drinks here. There is also a cinema and lots of designer stores to browse your favorite brands.

The 02 arena in North Greenwich
The 02 is shaped like a dome

There are many activities you can do at this dome. One of them includes a climb over the roof of the 02. You can also do indoor skydiving or enjoy a game of bowling or play arcade games. The fun doesn’t stop there, you can take a ride on The Emirates Air Line cable cars. Single tickets cost as little as £7.98. They offer a scenic ride across the Thames and views you defiantly don’t want to miss. For more information on the 02 arena visit the website.

With so much to do at the London 02 arena, why not turn your visit into a little getaway? That’s exactly what I did. I stayed at Radisson Red Hotel. It was the perfect staycation I needed in the city but also a quiet one to relax.

A Stay at Radisson Red Hotel

Radisson Red isn’t just any hotel. It has a fun, creative energy that sets it apart from the usual chain hotels. The bold colors, quirky decor, and artistic touches make it feel modern and welcoming. It’s got that perfect mix of laid-back luxury, where you can relax without feeling out of place. It is also super cheap, i paid £80 for the night.

How to get to the hotel by public transport

Reaching Radisson Red from North Greenwich Station is super easy:

  • Walking: It’s a 20-minute walk from North Greenwich station.
  • By bus: Get bus 188, and you’ll reach the hotel in just 4 minutes.
  • By car: There is parking near the hotel but it’s very limited and there’s a parking fee.

The hotel has 70 rooms, offering standard, or superior rooms. I booked a superior room which comes with a seating area, workspace and plenty of room.

The Rooms are Spacious, and include basic essentials

My room was honestly a lovely space to unwind. It had everything I needed:

  • work desk (to catch up on some work)
  • mini-fridge (bought some snacks and drinks to store)
  • safety deposit box (for personal things like a laptop)
  • flat-screen TV for movie night in.
  • modern bathroom with a unique art wall (the best part)

Speaking of the bathroom, it was one of my favorite parts of the room. Instead of the usual plain shower walls, Radisson Red adds a creative, artsy touch, which made it feel special. Plus, the bright mirror was great for getting ready in the morning.

I loved that the bathroom was stocked with all the basic essentials you’d need for your stay. Hand wash, shower cap, shampoo, conditioner all on display as you enter the bathroom.

onsite restaurant serves fantastic dishes

The hotel’s restaurant offers a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. It features a mix of stylish seating, ranging from cute booths and artistic frames to spacious tables in the middle.

There were plenty of tables to sit at and work as sockets are on every table positioned by the wall. I managed to get some work down on my laptop and order food as I work.

Sweet potato fries

I ordered sweet potato fries along with my order of fried chicken. But I noticed the sweet potato fries had not arrived after 30 minutes. I knew something was up and had to ask about them. The waiting staff were apologetic and even gave me a 30% discount off the bill. When the sweet potato fries arrived, they were hot, crispy, and served with a cheesy sauce. Honestly, they were the best sweet potato fries I’ve had in a long time!.

I also tried the fried chicken with peri-peri sauce, which was perfectly crispy and full of flavour. As for drinks, I originally wanted the strawberry-lime cider, but they were out. Instead, the bar staff recommended the peach-raspberry cider, and I’m glad they did. It was refreshing, slightly sweet, and absolutely delicious.

Dine at Nine lounge Restaurant

If you prefer Japanese and pan Asian food, I recommend booking a table at Nine lounge. It is located on the 9th Floor.

Final thoughts and why I’d Stay at Radisson Red

Yes! Radisson Red hotel is a nice small hotel near the 02 arena. I loved the style, bold colours and quirky furniture. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I had a really nice, relaxed stay. This is the place you’d want to book for solo trips, with friends or business purposes. You’re minutes away from the 02 arena. There is always a lot going on, from activities to your favourite bands or singers on stage. There are plenty of eating options in the area and everything is within reach by foot or car.

If you’re planning a trip to this part of London, I’d definitely recommend you book this hotel.
