How to spend a weekend in Brighton
Brighton is by far one of the best seaside towns to visit in England and for good reason! The pebble stone beach draws in thousands of visitors every year. It’s home to a Palace Pier with tons of rides, arcade games, food vendors and more.
The fun doesn’t stop there, along the beach you’ll find the Brighton i360 pod. You can take a 30 minute ride up the pod for stunning views of Brighton, perfect for sunset hour. If a weekend in Brighton is on the cards, check out my top recommendations.

Train from London to Brighton
Trains from London to Brighton are frequent and run everyday of the week. I recommend getting a direct train from London Bridge to Brighton. The journey takes about an hour. Book your train tickets in advance on Trinleine.com for discounted tickets.

Here are some of the best things you can do on your weekend to Brighton.
1. Stroll Along Brighton Palace Pier
Start your day at the heart of Brighton’s beachfront, the iconic Palace Pier. Packed with wonder and charm. This traditional Victorian structure offers arcades, plenty of fish and chips, a fairground.
You’ll find there’s all sorts of fun things happening on the Pier for children and adults too.
2. Explore The Lanes and check out crafty stores
Wander into The Lanes, Brighton’s historic maze of narrow alleyways filled with quirky boutiques, vintage shops, and independent cafés. You are bound to find something unique there so take plently of time browsing. One of my favourite things to do is sit outside at one of the many cafés. Get a coffee and people-watch.
3. Visit the Royal Pavilion
You can’t miss a visit at the Royal Pavilion whether you go for just a look or go inside. The palace was built for King George IV. It blends Indian and Chinese architectural styles. The interior is impressive and full of regal eccentricity. Even the gardens are free and a spot to sit and take in the views.

4. Take a Seaside Bike Ride or Walk
Rent a bike or simply walk along the Brighton seafront promenade. The route takes you past beach huts, art installations, and sea-facing cafés. If you have time, head toward Hove for a slightly quieter stretch of beach.
5. Catch Sunset at the British Airways i360
End your day with a breathtaking view at the British Airways i360. It is a futuristic glass observation pod. It slowly rises 450 feet into the sky where you are greeted with stunning views of Brighton. On a good, clear day, the view stretches as far as the eye can see. I recommend you go at sunset, the views are amazing.
6. Spend an overnight stay at a Brighton’s top hotel

Stay overnight at one of the finest hotels on Brighton’s seafront. DoubleTree by Hilton Metropole. The hotel offers sea views, spacious rooms, a fitness centre and indoor pool. There’s even a playroom for the little ones. The location is very central just 20 minutes from Brighton Station. The staff are so attentive and kind. The food at the onsite restaurant is very good, they serve the best fish and chips I ever had. Along with a fantastic breakfast menu. The hotel is very clean, with plush elegant decor. This is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Brighton and would stay again.

Final thoughts. . .

Book your train tickets and book a couple nights at DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole. Spend your days soaking up the lively energy along the Brighton beachfront. Enjoy its buzzing cafés, independent shops, and iconic attractions like the Palace Pier. For a slower pace, unwind with a stroll along the beach at sunset, breathing in the fresh sea air.
